Scam Busting

When I first became interested in doing a detailed investigation into the “anti-Mary Kay” world, I did so mostly as an observer. I visited chat rooms and discussion boards to witness opinions on the products and the company, as well as to find out about other sources of information.

My quest for information led me to “training documents” that detailed sales and recruiting tactics that didn’t always appear to be above board. I came across story after story by women who were encouraged to buy their way to the next “level” in Mary Kay. I heard similar stories about “recruiting” family, friends, pets, and non-existent people in order to meet the recruiting requirements to go the next level.

Were any of these things different from what I experienced and witnessed while I was in Mary Kay? No. And that is when I decided to play an active role in gathering more information about Mary Kay the company, Mary Kay the products, and Mary Kay the sales force. The investigation started to heat up!
