Herbalife “responds,” media doesn’t verify

Today Herbalife Ltd (NYSE:HLF) “responded” to the allegations of lead content in Herbalife products brought by Barry Minkow and Fraud Discovery Institute.  Barry’s allegations were supported by test results from an independent laboratory.

The response today included Herbalife’s statement that they had their products tested and Barry is wrong.

And did Reuters ask to see the lab results of Herbalife’s testing? No. So has anyone seen any proof that Barry’s claims have been “rebutted” with facts? No.

Would that be considered irresponsible reporting?

do you think that Herbalife will disclose their results?
They must do it for the sake of the company and its consumers/distribuitors.
Otherwise, it is, indeed, irresponsable reporting.
We’re talking here about dangerous levels of lead for children – and the reputation of two independent labs. Not to mention Barry Minkow himself and the FDI.
This is a very serious matter.
